Hey, if you just got to Cusco, this tour is PERFECT for your first day. It’s chill, no hard stuff, and you learn a ton about the Incas. You’ll see big spots like the Cathedral and Qoricancha, then check out the old ruins near Sacsayhuamán Park. Coolest part? You see how Inca stuff mixes with Spanish stuff. And you don’t walk much—they drive you around!
WHY IT’S COOL
We pick you up at your hotel around 1:15 pm. Or meet at the Cathedral door by 1:30 pm. Let’s go!
First stop: The Cathedral
Right in the main square. They built it 550+ years ago on top of an Inca palace. Inside, there’s like 300 old paintings, shiny silver things, and crazy wood carvings. So pretty. You’ll get why Cusco’s history is wild. Spend like 40 minutes here.
Next: Qoricancha (Temple of the Sun)
Walk down a street to get there. This place was COVERED IN GOLD back then. Incas used it for religion, then the Spanish made it a convent. Guide will tell you all the drama.
Around 3 pm: Drive to Sacsayhuamán
Only 2 km from town. It’s up high—3,700 meters (12,139 feet)! The rocks here are GIGANTIC. Some weigh 350 tons?! They do the Sun Festival here every June. Big party.
Then: Qenqo
4 km from Cusco, 3,680 meters up. It’s like a maze of rocks. Probably did ceremonies for Mother Earth here. Spooky but cool.
Around 5 pm: Tambomachay
7 km out, 3,750 meters up. All about water—they built waterfalls into the rocks. Peaceful spot. Good way to end the day.
Last stop: Pucapucara
A red stone fortress (the rocks have iron!). They used it to protect Cusco and check travelers. 3,650 meters up.
Back in Cusco by 6:45 pm—time for dinner!
